Description: This joint meeting of the EEA planning and MOP planning framework teams is scheduled to review, evaluate and determine the most viable ocean management planning models available for use in Massachusetts. The MOP planning framework team has been examining dozens of ocean management planning models/tools that have been or are currently in use from around the world.

Event Status: SAC Membership, MOP Partners/Prospective Partners and Public
Description: This EEA meeting of the Science Advisory Council is convened to: evaluate/discuss the three remaining EEA Workgroup reports (Transportation, Navigation and Infrastructure; Ocean Sediments; and Recreational and Cultural Ocean Services); discuss the status of the science baseline assessment; and to brainstorm approaches for the development of the overall science plan. for MA ocean management planning) which was collectively created by this panel over the preceding three months. The next SAC meeting will likely be held in early February.

Description: This EEA-convened meeting of the Ocean Advisory Commission will provide: an update on the MA ocean management process with an outline of the immediate next steps; a review of draft ocean management planning goals and objectives; and introductory discussion of potential ocean management planning framework options for MA.

Description: This workshop, led by Patrick Field, the managing director of the Consensus Building Institute (CBI) and Stacie Smith, senior associate and director of Workable Peace at CBI, is designed to strengthen our Partners’ collaborative skills to support their effective participation in the MA ocean management planning process— including, the EEA stakeholder meetings tentatively scheduled for February 7th and 10th of 2009. We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity free of charge to our Partners and prospective Partners and hope you can attend.
